No7 Cleansing Brush - My Thoughts

I'm sure you're all aware that this is basically a bit of a dupe for the Clarisonic but this No7 version comes in at a fraction of the price. I'd always wanted a Clarisonic, I came so close to buying one many times but I just couldn't justify the price to be honest. I paid just £15.00 for the No7 cleansing brush when it was on offer. The full price is £24.95. Knowing what I know now and after using it daily for over a month I would definitely say that £24.95 is still a bargain for this product.

Just so you can tell if this might or might not work for your skin too -  My skin is no where near perfect and I have constant battle with it, without make-up I really hate my skin. I have combination skin, I have an oily t-zone where I'm prone to clogged pores, blackheads and breakouts (especially on my chin!) but I then also have really dry cheeks. So, I use this with my Liz Earle cleanser and I use it every evening. This might be too much for some people but for me I find it just right. I concentrate mainly on my t-zone as like I said, this is where I have clogged pores etc then just briefly use this on my cheeks and forehead. The brush is quite soft, it doesn't irritate my skin at all, it doesn't make my skin red, sore or leave it feeling tight.

The first week I used this my skin was amazing. It cleared up any break outs I had on my chin, my skin felt soft, I didn't need to use half as much moisturiser and my foundation seemed to apply so much easier.
Now onto the purging stage.. this was the stage I, and I know lots of others are concerned about. I definitely went through it, and I knew about it. Around 10 days into using this I broke out on my chin so bad, I usually break out there anyway at least once a month but this was numerous break outs all across my chin. I was starting to think that I should just quit using the cleansing brush and that it just wasn't for me. I decided to stick it out though and give it a month. In one way I'm sort of glad this stage happened as I now know that the No7 cleanser was doing something for my skin. I try to see it as all the bad crap coming out of my skin. At this present moment (almost three weeks later) and my chin is definitely clearing up. I did find though that the cleansing brush helps any break outs clear up so much quicker than they normally would.
Over all despite the purging stage I went through, I do really love this cleansing brush and I'm definitely going to stick at it using it as I've definitely noticed an improvement in my skin. The pores around my nose are less noticeable, there's still some stubborn black heads but there's definitely less. My skin is softer and smoother as well as just generally looking healthier now I've got over the purging stage. I'd really recommend this to anybody who has oily skin like me and has trouble with clogged pores or lots of break outs. If you have sensitive or dry skin then you could still give it a try just maybe use it less. If you are interested then the No7 cleansing brush is available in store and online in Boots!

Have you tried the No7 Cleansing brush? What did you think? Did you have the same experiences as me?

  6. This sounds like a really good dupe for the clarisonic! I just use a normal exfoliating face brush which I get off eBay for 99p, I love it! x
