I'm sure every single one of you reading this will of heard of Maybelline Baby Lips. If you're in the UK like me, we've all been eagerly awaiting the arrival of these little beauties. I know the U.S had them ages before we did, I was very jealous! Especially as I am a huge lip balm addict, and since I'm not a huge lipstick wearer (when I do wear lipsticks I'm not brave enough to go with bold shades) a tinted lip balm is absolutely perfect for me. So of course, I had to pick up a couple. First of all.. can we all just take a moment to appreciate how cute the packaging is? Anything with cute, quirky, girly packaging is instantly a hit with me and these tick all three of those boxes. The shades I chose are Cherry me and Pink Punch.
Both Cherry Me and Pink Punch are quite pigmented for a lip balm to be honest, well more pigmented than I expected them to be, I usually just apply one quick coat to get a really nice sheen, but if you apply them a couple of times you can really get a nice colour build up. To give you an idea of how much colour they can give.. they're definitely not as pigmented as something like the lip butters, but they still can give a nice amount of colour. The lip balms apply really smoothly onto the lips, some can often feel like you're dragging them across your lips but these glide on nicely and leave your lips feeling really smooth. They aren't heavy and don't leave your lips feeling sticky or greasy in any way.
Apparently they leave your lips feeling smooth for eight hours, I think Maybelline you're being a little bit optimistic with this one.. I'd say more like three hours at a max. I often find myself having to reapply a lot sooner than eight hours anyway, but still, three hours is pretty good and I don't mind topping up when they smell as good as these do!
The only complaint I have with these is that they don't contain SPF, I do believe some of the Baby Lips do contain SPF but the two I own unfortunately don't which is slightly annoying as I do like to wear SPF on my lips, but it's not really a big deal I suppose.
Over all, I really do love these. They aren't a mind blowing product but they work well, smell nice and look cute and are just a nice product to own and carry around in your bag.
Have you tried any of the Baby Lips?
